Job description

Fengate is a leading alternative investment manager focused on infrastructure, private equity and real estate strategies. In 2006, Fengate established its first infrastructure fund with a mandate to invest in infrastructure investments in Canada. Today, Fengate has invested in over 50 assets across the energy transition, digital, social and transportation infrastructure sectors in the United States and Canada.

As part of their strategy to grow the infrastructure investment platform, Fengate is seeking to hire an Associate to join their investment team in Toronto to expand their investment capabilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Support sourcing, bidding and closing investments and financings
2. Support managing development partnerships and platforms
3. Support fundraising and strategy
4. Analyze, structure, and execute investments and financings
5. Support diligence of new and management of existing development partnerships/platforms
6. Develop financial models, presentations and investment memos
7. Conduct financial analysis and research
8. Participate in internal and external meetings as part of the team

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

1. Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or a related field
2. Proficiency in financial modeling, Excel and other statistical packages
3. 2+ years of cumulative work experience for an investment bank, infrastructure fund or project finance bank
4. Deal execution experience (acquisitions, debt and equity financings)
5. Strong understanding of project risk (development, construction and operation) and project documentation
6. Mid-market and development capital experience preferred but not required
7. Strong organizational skills, and the ability to effectively prioritize in a demanding, high paced environment
8. Ability to formally articulate and present data as requested
