Job summary

The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation (PMCF) is seeking an Associate, Fundraising Granting to support donor-funded projects from planning through delivery. You will coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure accurate reporting, compliance with donor restrictions, and effective project implementation.

You will build reports, stay ahead of grant milestones, and help measure the financial impact of donations while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and ensuring

Qualifications

• 3+ years of fundraising and philanthropy experience.
• Healthcare or higher education background is an asset.
• Advanced MS Office, Excel and CRM proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of funds, commitments and reporting to optimize granting and demonstrate donor impact.
• Monitor grant projects with fund holders to ensure effective execution.
• Develop progress reports and briefing materials for diverse stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with grant agreements and donor restrictions.
• Propose workflow improvements and create project plans, SOPs, tools and templates.
• Support system tools development to improve Granting operations.

Hiring Range: $70,000 to $80,000 (plus additional compensative incentives such as bonus, pension and more)

The Associate, Fundraising Granting reports directly to the Director, Granting and plays a critical role in supporting a portfolio of donor-funded projects and initiatives. Using strong problem solving and analytical skills, the Associate helps manage the granting components of projects from planning through delivery. This includes working closely with internal teams and external partners to coordinate activities, support project implementation, and communicate project impact to donors.

You Will

• Manage a portfolio of funds, commitments, and related reporting requirements to both optimize granting to Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and to demonstrate impact to donors
• Monitor grant projects, working directly with Cancer Centre fund holders, to ensure effective and efficient execution
• Develop progress reports, briefing materials and other resources tailored to diverse stakeholder groups, including project teams, senior leadership and key external partners
• Ensure compliance with grant agreements, donor restrictions, and organizational policies
• Bring forward suggestions to improve workflows, as well as develop project plans/schedules, standard operation procedures, tools and templates
• Support the development and implementation of system tools to create efficiencies or enhancements to improve the operations of the Granting team
• Assist in analyzing complex issues related to funding allocation
• Produce or contribute to analytics on key performance indicators and metrics to identify granting trends and measure the success
• Support the development and implementation of a comprehensive and integrated approach to measure and report to donors the financial impact of donations
• Identify complex issues and risks in real-time and ideate options for resolution and make informed recommendations for the appropriate course of action and sustainable solutions
• Exercise sound judgment to elevate issues and concerns proactively
• Work creatively and analytically demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence
• Build and nurture relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
• Monitor emerging trends in the charitable sector. Synthesize and communicate relevant insights, data and market intelligence to support continuous improvement of granting programs, processes and fund management practices

Qualifications

• Experienced professional with 3+ years of demonstrated success in fundraising and philanthropy ismandatory and a background in healthcare or higher education is considered an asset.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel and CRM.
• Experience will Salesforce, NetSuite, Blackbaud CRM, and PowerBI would be considered an asset.
• Exposure to restricted fund accounting would be considered an asset.
• Ability to work independently.
• Demonstrates strong business communication, financial and project management skills.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and functionality.
• Strong sense of confidentiality and working with highly sensitive information.
• Demonstrates strong business communication skills, high emotional intelligence, and excellent facilitation abilities.
• Skilled in partnering with diverse stakeholders within complex governance structures, andstructures and navigating issues with diplomacy and tact.
