Job summary

Canaccord Genuity Corp. in Oakville seeks an Associate, Financial Planning to join the MacInnes Group. You will design and deliver customized wealth plans and provide strategic guidance on complex planning needs, tax optimization, and intergenerational wealth transfer.

The role emphasizes strong client relationships, teamwork, and growth within a leading independent wealth management firm. CFP designation is required or in progress; other credentials are assets.

Qualifications

  • 4 to 7 years of financial planning, wealth management, and/or risk management experience.
  • Must hold or be working towards Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation.
  • Additional designations such as CLU, FEA, CEPA, TEPA are assets.
  • Insurance industry knowledge or LLQP certification is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with strong presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver customized, comprehensive wealth plans integrating financial, investment, retirement, tax, risk management, and estate planning.
  • Provide strategic guidance on complex planning needs (holding companies, stock options, pension plans, retirement arrangements, charitable giving, intergenerational wealth).
  • Analyze clients’ tax profiles and implement long-term tax planning strategies.
  • Present planning concepts and fee-based solutions to clients and internal partners.
  • Maintain strong client relationships within a team-based advisory structure.
  • Drive growth by promoting holistic planning and fostering partnerships.
