Meridia is proud to have partnered with MDW Law, a family law firm providing legal services throughout Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, in their search for an Associate Family Lawyer to join their team of high-performing legal professionals. They are a team of passionate, dedicated, and experienced lawyers, paralegals, and legal assistants who work together daily to ensure our clients receive the best possible solutions to their problems.

Who You Are
  1. 3-7 years of legal practice experience
  2. Experience in family law is an asset
  3. Practical court experience is an asset
  4. Membership in good standing with the Nova Scotia Bar (or the potential to become a member)
  5. Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  6. High degree of professionalism, excellent interpersonal skills, and a willingness to collaborate with colleagues and clients
  7. Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills
  8. Exemplary customer service skills
  9. Strong technical, legal, analytical, and drafting skills
  10. Excellent advocacy, conflict resolution, negotiation, and communication skills
  11. A growth mindset
  12. Ability to communicate in English and French is an asset
Responsibilities
  1. Maintaining and moving forward files (with the possibility of supervision depending on the candidate)
  2. Meeting with clients to perform tasks related to moving matters forward
  3. Attending court
  4. Review and preparation of legal documents.
