Job summary

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of pharmaceutical or biotech product marketing/commercial experience.
  • Rheumatology or immunology injectable drug experience required.
  • Field marketing or related function experience preferred.
  • Driving is an essential duty of this job; candidates must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Leading cross-functional planning and execution of advisory boards.
  • Capturing insights from KMEs and customers in the territory through 1/1 meetings, roundtables, and congress activities.
  • Serving on cross-functional brand sub-teams to provide internal and external customer perspective.
  • Providing competitive intelligence gained through targeted customer meetings.
  • Partnering with HQ to develop promotional content, especially for presentation materials.
  • Managing vendor work ( Medical Education Agency, Meeting Services, etc.).
  • Recruiting KMEs for content development and other projects (video shoots, web content, etc.).
  • Serving as the KME point of contact for international opportunities.
  • Developing and supporting congress plan execution including lectures and HCP engagement strategies.
  • Coordinating KME Executive Engagement meetings with leadership.
  • Working with Program Operations to manage Speaker’s Bureau requirements.

About This Role

We are seeking an Associate Director, Thought Leader Liaison Rheumatology, to execute strategies and tactics for our Rheumatology Franchise, across our immunology portfolio. This position reports into the marketing organization, focused on building, implementing and executing field-based tactics that support educational goals and the appropriate use of product therapy with HCPs, their staff, and the caregiver/patient community. As a field-based role within US Marketing, this individual will be responsible for defined activity within the individual assigned region as well as supporting programs throughout the country and interfacing regularly with internal colleagues across multiple departments.

The position requires a flexible work schedule (including nights and weekends) and travel up to 80%.

What You’ll Do

The Associate Director, Rheumatology Thought Leader Liaison position plays a critical role in generating insights from leading key medical experts (KMEs) and informs brand activities by:

  • Leading cross-functional planning and execution of advisory boards
  • Capturing insights from targeted customers within the assigned territory, through 1/1 meetings, roundtable discussions, and congress activities

  • Managing vendor work as needed (i.e., Medical Education Agency, Meeting Services, etc.)
  • Identifying and recruiting KMEs for content development and other promotional projects (i.e., video shoots, web content, New Hire training, etc.)
  • Serving as the KME point of contact for international opportunities
  • Developing and supporting execution of congress plan including industry symposia and HCP engagement strategies
  • Coordinating KME Executive Engagement meetings with leadership
  • Working with the Program Operations team to manage Speaker’s Bureau requirements (i.e., training, remediation, etc.)
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred
  • 7 + years of pharmaceutical or biotech product marketing/commercial experience required
  • Rheumatology or immunology injectable drug experience required
  • Previous field marketing or related functional experience in marketing, sales or an allied function preferred
  • Proven ability to drive results in a challenging and ambiguous market.
  • Driving is an essential duty of this job; candidates must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record according to Biogen policy to be considered.

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this role is: $180,000.00-$248,000.00

Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.

Regular employees are eligible to receive both short term and long-term incentives, including cash bonus and equity incentive opportunities, designed to reward recent achievements and recognize your future potential based on individual, business unit and company performance.
