This is a newly created role and presents a unique and exciting opportunity to join BMO Canadian Commercial Bank, to help develop a new platform comprised of strategic capital & risk solutions across mid-market credit.

Following any required training, which will be provided, the successful candidate will;

  • Become a specialty resource on available capital solutions, product knowledge, and process to explore such activities.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for the strategic capital platform to various stakeholders, and a trusted advisor to the business group.
  • Serve as an advisory resource to deal teams.
  • Provide credit hedging expertise with respect to the inclusion, applicability, and appropriateness of utilizing strategic capital tools.
  • Builds effective relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Oversees ongoing monitoring of trackers.
  • Influences stakeholders effectively to achieve business objectives.
  • Tracking of all deal inquiries, maintaining status, and timely follow up with respective deal teams.
  • Data gathering and analysis will be a key capability.
  • Provides review and comment on loan documentation with respect to exploring strategic capital options.
  • Develop the ability to navigate ambiguity and complex situations
  • Development of internal educational materials for bankers across Canada
  • Develop reporting and dashboards to provide management-level and deal/product level reporting.
  • Assist bankers with return/cost analysis at a transactional level
  • Liaise with US platform and stakeholders to maintain alignment and market knowledge.
  • Develop competitive landscape knowledge ensuring competitive intelligence and best market practices.
  • Create templates to allow for standardization and consistency across the platform
  • Possess credit risk and credit structuring knowledge.
  • Is excited by innovation and building a new platform within a large organization.
  • possess an entrepreneurial spirit, combined with a keen interest in credit.
  • Work independently, and is comfortable pivoting as needed to accommodate multiple urgent priorities.
  • Develop expertise in credit products, processes and systems.
  • Participate in the development of financial models and other analytical tools.
  • Maintains current on financing trends and strategic capital across multiple markets.
  • Oversee preparation of credit correspondence for strategic capital and may act as a go-to resource for the credit risk teams.
  • Quickly develops knowledge of internal credit policies and procedures with respect to credit lending decisions.
  • Work nationally and interact extensively with a broad and enterprise-wide focus.
  • exercise judgment and make appropriate recommendations as needed.
  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Typically between 3 - 6 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.

Salary :

$68000,00 - $126000,00

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
