Job summary

RBC in Toronto is seeking an experienced IT risk management professional to lead risk treatment recommendations for IT and operational risks, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement security policies and tools.

You will mentor colleagues, support audits, and drive remediation work, while applying advanced problem solving to complex risks and ensuring alignment with firm policies across risk functions and business partners.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of risk management and internal control frameworks.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

• Lead risk treatment recommendations for IT & Operational risks, executing influencing skills to ensure risks are sufficiently mitigated.
• Collaborates with cross functional teams and business partners to design, implement, and enhance security policies, and tools, addressing complex cybersecurity challenges and ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Mentors team members to deliver innovative solutions to emerging security threats.
• Lead and contribute to audit inquiries and document actions plans/ remediation work
• Executes on IT risk management tasks or projects, requiring advanced problem solving, decision making and strategic thinking with some ambiguity.
• Drives decisions on complex issues to develop clear, actionable recommendations for management, ensuring alignment on processes, tools and services with impact across other areas
• Leverages advanced and creative skills to resolve complex IT risk management related problems, fostering cross functional collaboration to identify and implement innovative solutions.
• Leads and facilitates cross functional collaboration efforts, fostering strong internal relationships across the organization and external partnerships to achieve impactful business outcomes.
• Identify and escalation operational risks and control deficiencies while ensuring compliance with firm policies through proactive monitoring and timely communication with management and risk functions.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have

• Knowledge of Risk management and internal control frameworks
• Experience in documenting Risk action plans
• Experience with the Archer Issues Management tool
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills, including strong relationship management skills
• Knowledge of Identity Access Management principles and best practices

Nice-to-have :

• Knowledge of Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance Tools (Service Now, Archer)
• Broad IT systems management experience
• Knowledge of Capital Markets products and systems is an asset
• CRISC or demonstrated knowledge
