Associate Director, Fund Accounting at SS&C Technologies

Locations: Mississauga, Ontario (5255 Orbitor Drive); Toronto, Ontario (200 Front Street)

What You Will Get To Do

• Manage multiple client engagements, supervising various client service teams and ensuring all client deliverables are met
• Manage performance of direct reports, providing feedback, appraisal, and career development guidance
• Deliver accurate and timely work product within specified deliverables timelines, in coordination with the vice president and other team members
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of accounting, specifically with respect to alternative investment funds, focusing on Private Markets
• Review transaction documentation and supporting files, understanding features of investment transactions, accruals, etc.
• Review work paper files for accuracy and completeness, including capital activity, investment activity, income and expense accruals, valuation adjustments, etc.
• Review management fee calculations, including fee waiver contributions
• Review investor allocations and capital account statements
• Review capital call and distribution calculations, sources/uses of cash, allocations, and investor notices
• Update and review distribution waterfall (carried interest) models in keeping with applicable fund terms
• Provide guidance, training, and development for team members
• Support corporate goals and business/departmental initiatives

What You Will Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
• 7+ years’ experience in accounting, focusing on alternative investment funds
• Experience preparing and reviewing general ledgers, work papers, and financial statements
• Deadline-oriented with ability to complete assigned tasks independently
• Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to multi-task
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with advanced Excel skills
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• Significant mutual fund or investment accounting experience
• Thorough understanding of US and international investment characteristics, both common and exotic

Salary Range: $110,000-$130,000 CAD
