Job summary

Citco Group of Companies in Toronto, Ontario, is seeking a Supervisor, Fund Accounting - Hedge Funds to lead monthly NAV calculations, interact with clients and coordinate across Citco groups.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years hedge fund accounting experience, a degree in accounting/finance/economics, and strong Excel and communication skills. You will work in a hybrid model with exposure to derivatives and complex fund structures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
• 3+ years hedge fund accounting experience with derivatives and external investors.
• CPA/CFA designation preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of investments and financial products (derivatives).
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly Net Asset Value calculations with reconciliations and allocations.
• Manage timing and quality of client deliverables.
• Coordinate with senior management, clients and multiple Citco groups.
• Support external audit process and client setup/transitions.
• Prepare ad hoc reports as needed.
• Interact with P&L, valuations and price analysis teams.

As a core member of our Fund Accounting - Hedge Funds team, you will be working with some of the industry's most accomplished professionals to deliver award-winning services for complex fund structures that our clients can depend upon.

Responsibilities

Your Role:

You will prepare monthly Net Asset Value calculations, which includes: Cash and Portfolio Reconciliations, Income and Expense Accruals, Partner/Shareholder Allocation calculations, Financial Statement preparation and trial balance review.

Manage and monitor the timing and quality of client deliverables

Interact with senior management and clients; help establish plan for new client setup and transitions

Help coordinate, manage and monitor external audit process

Place outbound phone calls to clients in response to written inquiries or obtain clarification on transaction processing requests; provide technical accounting/industry knowledge to clients

Coordinate with Operations group, Tax group, Investor Relations group, Financial Statement group, and other groups at Citco

Review client funds' partnership agreements, PPMs and other materials

Be part of the implementation of fund structures on accounting system

Interact daily with P&L team on valuations and price analysis

Prepare ad hoc reports as needed

Qualifications

About You:

• You have an accounting/finance background with relevant experience as evidenced by:
• A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics and
• Demonstrated 3+ years of work experience at hedge fund accounting or investment companies fund accounting with derivative instruments and external investors
• Nearly qualified or completed CA, CMA, CGA, CPA or CFA designation (preferred - not a must have)
• Strong working understanding of investment strategies and financial products (including derivatives)
• Been in a reviewer capacity of deliverables and managing delivery for the team
• Able to demonstrate that you are comfortable working in an operations model where you have to coordinate and work with various teams
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated financial reporting, analytical and organizational skills
• Strong Office and Outlook skill set (especially Excel)
• Proven ability to work in a challenging and professional work environment

Salary Range: CAD $77,000-$93,000
