Position Summary

Associate Creative Director (copywriting background) at Loblaw Agency. Lead a team of copywriters, art directors, and designers across social, digital, video, print and other media to create engaging, brand‑driven ideas for Canada’s tier‑one retail brands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team in developing exceptional creative ideas for diverse tier‑one brands across all mediums.
  • Use strong strategic acumen to deliver creative ideas on brief and on brand.
  • Apply strategic and executional expertise with social, digital, video and print.
  • Evaluate team structure, resource allocation and drive project execution.
  • Direct the team and partners to develop creative art and copy that best support the creative strategy and vision.
  • Ensure brand guidelines and directives are embraced and adhered to.
  • Stay curious and stay familiar with competitor marketing programs and creative techniques.
  • Ensure creation of effective, industry‑leading creative concepts.
  • Create inspiring, concise presentations and present work effectively to senior leadership.
  • Work resourcefully with different budgets and in partnership with production, providing ideas, solutions and suggestions.
  • Proactively contribute ideas and projects as directed by the creative director to build a world‑class agency.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of relevant creative experience, preferably in an agency.
  • Proven track record of creating award‑winning, game‑changing work.
  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in new media arts, communication design, creative advertising or equivalent.
  • Expertise leading an engaged creative team with direct reports and evaluating performance effectiveness.
  • Expert ability to lead and direct photography and broadcast shoots (food photography preferred).
  • Trusted partner with insight, knowledge and professional leadership to move projects from concept through completion.
  • Mastery of storytelling for social media, television, digital and other platforms.
  • Proven ability to lead a team through multiple campaigns in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proven ability to create effective, original advertising materials.
  • Exceptionally innovative and creative with excellent collaboration skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with peers and senior stakeholders through inspiring, strategically‑driven creative presentations.
  • Expert knowledge in industry‑standard software and tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, MS Office, Workfront and online market research.
  • Experience in brand development in multichannel marketing (social, digital, apps, events, TV, print, OOH, experiential, etc.).
Candidate Requirements

Candidate must be 18 years or older and will undergo a criminal background check. Paying range is $100,000 – $132,000 per year.
