Job summary

Carrier, a Carrier company, is seeking an Associate Controls Specialist in Lower Mainland, BC. This onsite role requires extensive travel to client sites (about 80%), performing installation, troubleshooting and optimization of DDC systems with a focus on trends, alarms, and sensors.

Strong documentation and teamwork are expected. You will grow technically, handle varying project locations, and contribute to building automation projects with WebCTRL and BAS integration while leveraging Microsoft

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required or equivalent.
• Degree or technical certificate in HVAC/Controls is preferred.
• Experience with building automation systems is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Execution: Install, troubleshoot, and optimize DDC systems. Work with the team to ensure controls, sensors, and software run right while configuring trends and alarms.
• Project Documentation: Maintain accurate construction records and communicate project status clearly to the team and customers.
• Travel & Flexibility: Travel as needed and stay adaptable to changing schedules and project locations to keep field operations on track.
• Ready to Grow: Sharpen your skills through self‑directed learning. We expect you to seek out system complexity and take on more responsibility as you advance.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Hold a valid, current Driver’s License.
• Own vehicle and provide proof of insurance for business purposes.
• Lift items up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as squat and climb for extended periods.
• Must pass the required height training and capable of working over 8 feet above grade and proficient in the use of ladders and motorized lift equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background: Degree or Technical Certificate in HVAC, Controls, or a related field.
• Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of BAS integration and TCP/IP networking (including wireless). Experience in building automation software, such as WebCTRL, and installing building automation controls.
• Communication: Ability to explain technical info to non-technical people and work well within a team.
• Software: Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications.

Pay Range

The expected base salary range for this role is between $43,500.00 CAD - $93,500.00 CAD annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate. This compensation includes components such as base salary, vacation pay, public holiday pay, potential estimated overtime pay and paid statutory leaves of absence. Additional benefits may include insured benefits such as health care, vision, dental, disability, as well as possible retirement contributions. The pay range will not be below the minimum wage applicable to the province in which the applicant is to be employed.

Other Compensation

This role may also provide the opportunity to earn additional incentive compensation in the form of annual bonus, sales bonus, sales commission or local incentive. If the role provides for an opportunity to earn additional incentive compensation, it will be based on measurable performance factors which may include company performance, individual performance or other key performance indicators.
