Job summary

RBC is seeking a highly organized Capital Markets Onboarding Associate in Toronto to manage end-to-end client onboarding across multiple teams. You will be the primary contact for clients and internal partners, ensuring timely, compliant, and high-quality service throughout pre- and post-onboarding.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in onboarding, strong Excel and CRM skills, and excellent communication. This role offers a structured team environment with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years onboarding experience preferred or related roles (KYC, operations, regulations, credit risk).
  • Basic understanding of Capital Markets products (FX, Cash and Equity Derivatives, Fixed Income, Futures, Commodities and Rates Derivatives).
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and experience with CRM/onboarding platforms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced trading environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the global onboarding liaison for Capital Markets clients and sales desks in North America.
  • Manage client lifecycle requests across KYC, AML, Legal, Operations, IT, Credit, Docs, Risk to ensure a smooth experience.
  • Maintain and update onboarding status reports for stakeholders and meet deadlines.
  • Identify and escalate operational control events to escalation teams and address deficiencies.
  • Ensure compliance with bank policies across KYC, risk, and regulatory activities.
  • Provide support for regulatory initiatives, projects, and SOP documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate onboarding processes.

What is the opportunity?

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-orientated capital markets onboarding Associate, responsible for the entire workflow, providing a professional, responsive, and accurate service to client and internal business partners.


Leverage knowledge of the client onboarding policies and Capital Markets operations to ensure end-to-end client satisfaction is attained throughout the pre and post onboarding lifecycle while acting as the primary point of contact and escalation between RBC and its clients.


What will you do?


  • Member of a global team primarily focused on Capital Markets onboarding requests from clients and sales desks based in North America.

  • Manage client lifecycle requests for new and existing clients across the functional teams (KYC, AML, Legal, Operations, IT, Credit, Docs, Risk) to deliver a smooth and efficient experience for the client and Sales.

  • Maintain and update status reports on the onboarding progress to business stakeholders, providing transparency and improved client service, escalating as required in order to meet client deadlines and expectations.

  • Identifying and escalating any operational control events to the relevant escalation teams, assisting with any operational deficiencies, trading without approvals, risk loss events.

  • Ensure compliance with bank policies applicable to onboarding across KYC, risk and regulatory activities.

  • Provide additional business support as directed by reporting manager (e.g. strategic or regulatory initiatives, projects, documentation of policy/procedures and reporting/metrics)

  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance, streamline and automate processes.


What you need to succeed?


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent/similar

  • 3 - 5 Years of onboarding experience preferred or experience in a related role (KYC, operations, regulations, credit risk)

  • Basic understanding of Capital Markets products – FX, Cash and Equity Derivatives, Fixed Income, Futures, Commodities and Rates Derivatives

  • Understanding of fund management industry is a benefit but not essential

  • Proficient in MS Excel skills (macros, lookups etc) and experience with CRM systems or onboarding platforms.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Proactive, team player, self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills (must be able to prioritize and re-prioritize tasks to meet the fast-paced demands of the trading environment)

  • Strong sense of accountability and ownership over \"client experience\" and end-to-end client on-boarding processes.

  • Ability to successfully navigate a complex infrastructure that involves numerous groups and individuals.
