Associate - Client Data Operations, GBM Onboarding (GWO)

This role involves supporting the Client Data Operations team in GBM Onboarding, focusing on counterparty data analysis, investigation, triage, stakeholder coordination, and resolution of data exceptions, ensuring compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Leading the client data operations team and supporting data reconciliation projects within GBMO.
  2. Developing job aids and procedures for the team.
  3. Analyzing and reconciling large, unstructured client datasets from sources like Fenergo, Markit ISDA Amend, and trading systems.
  4. Managing client data exceptions, performing reconciliations, and ensuring accurate counterparty mapping for trade reporting.
  5. Investigating and resolving data inconsistencies between systems to improve data quality.
  6. Collaborating with Global Wholesale Operations, Internal Control, and Compliance teams to address data issues.
  7. Preparing periodic and ad hoc reports for internal stakeholders and regulators.
  8. Designing operational tracking for requests, producing metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  9. Responding to audits and testing concerning client data findings.
  10. Implementing improvements in controls, customer service, and productivity.
  11. Fostering a customer-focused culture and leveraging broader bank relationships.
  12. Ensuring operations align with Scotiabank’s values, code of conduct, and compliance obligations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • University degree in Business, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience in operations or project management.
  • Understanding of relevant regulations such as KYC/AML, Dodd-Frank, EMIR, and Canadian Trade Reporting.
  • Familiarity with onboarding tools like Fenergo and Salesforce Markit ISDA Amend.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
