Job summary

Maple Leaf Foods is seeking an Assistant Supervisor at our London, ON facility. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will coach and lead a team, champion safety, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll manage daily scheduling, participate in audits, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure production targets and a positive, respectful workplace. This temporary, full-time role offers competitive wages and benefits.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education required or equivalent.
• A few years of comparable manufacturing experience.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Progressive leader with people-management abilities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Reliable transportation to the work site.

Responsibilities

• Champion a positive culture and lead your operations team in developing a productive environment aligned with Leadership Values.
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily and weekly production schedules.
• Participate in on-site audits for FSQA, Health & Safety, and Human Resources requirements.
• Resolve employee issues through counselling sessions, investigations or grievance meetings as needed.
• Active participant in daily team meetings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as FSQA, Reliability, Sanitation, Materials, Finance, and HR.
• Foster a positive employee relationship by listening to concerns and providing timely responses.
• Facilitate safety talks and task observations in pursuit of continuous improvement.
• Administration duties such as payroll, scheduling and shift reports.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Assistant Supervisor plays an integral role within our manufacturing facilities. You will be the coach on the playing field, providing leadership and guidance to our team members. You lead by example and inspire your team to deliver top results. You are passionate about safety and promote a culture where safety comes first. You thrive in an environment that is fast paced and have a keen sense for continuous improvement. Your approach is collaborative and offers a forum where everyone feels comfortable to bring forward new ideas.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a champion for our culture and lead your operations team in the development and execution of a positive and productive environment that permeates through all levels and is focused on the needs of our people and consistent with our Leadership Values.
