Job summary

WoodGreen Community Services in Toronto is seeking an Assistant Supervisor, Child Care (full-time permanent) to lead in the Bruce/Woodgreen Early Learning Centre. 35 hours per week onsite at 51 Larchmount Ave, Toronto, ON.

Salary range is $63,000–$66,000 annually. Responsibilities include supervising staff, maintaining staff-child ratios, developing age-appropriate programs, and ensuring safety and reporting to management.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising staff, students and volunteers in a licensed child care setting.
• Knowledge of Early Learning Framework and child development principles.
• Registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators is required.

Responsibilities

• Act as Manager in the absence of the Manager with oversight of program staff and volunteers.
• Maintain staff-child ratios and coordinate with supply staff during absences.
• Plan and implement daily programs supporting holistic child development.
• Record daily attendance, collect medical information as needed, and report to relevant personnel.
• Ensure safety, health and hygienic conditions of children everywhere in the centre.
• Prepare daily reports and share progress with parents; maintain equipment and schedules.
