Job summary

Agnico Eagle Mines Limited is seeking an Assistant Superintendent for the Process Plant to lead operations and maintenance in a large mining processing facility. You will ensure safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible performance while driving KPI-based improvements and staff development.

The role requires a metallurgical engineering degree and ~10 years in a large mining process plant environment, with strong MS Office proficiency and a commitment to the company's values and safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering or related discipline.
• 10 years of experience in managing a large and complex mining process plant.
• Strong knowledge of mining practices, procedures, and regulations.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Report to the Process Plant Superintendent and be part of the Process Plant Department; promote Agnico Eagle’s values and HSE standards.
• Ensure safe and environmentally responsible operations and maintenance activities.
• Coordinate maintenance and operations to meet departmental objectives sustainably.
• Coach and develop the leadership team.
• Analyze, approve, and implement KPIs for the department.
• Manage production and operations for adequate raw material supply.
• Review and approve staffing, development, and training of supervisory/operating personnel.
• Monitor environmental control systems to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Identify training tools for plant management and personnel.
• Oversee investigations of safety incidents and drive improvements.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

• Reporting to the Process Plant Superintendent, you will be part of the Process Plant Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and the environment.
• Ensure all operations and maintenance activities are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner;
• Coordinate maintenance and operations activities to achieve departmental objectives sustainably
• Coach and develop the leadership team;
• Analyze, approve, and implement the KPI’s to be applied in the department;
• Manage production and operations activities to ensure adequate supply of raw material intended for processes;
• Review, approve, and recommend actions regarding staffing, development, and training of all supervisory and operating personnel;
• Monitor environmental control systems to ensure compliance with government regulations;
• Identify, administer, and/or recommend necessary training tools for plant management and personnel;
• Oversee investigations involving safety incidents, accidents, and near misses. Ensure that reports are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Recommend procedures and methods to improve employee safety;
• Other duties as required.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

• Bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering or related discipline;
• 10 years of experience in managing a large and complex mining process plant;
• Thorough working knowledge and understanding of efficient mining practices, procedures, and regulations;
• Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Note that the official working language at Meliadine is English.

Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
