Overview

The Assistant Store Manager will report to the Store Manager and is responsible for assisting the store management team in supervising and facilitating daily store operations according to set goals and business objectives. Daily operations include staff scheduling, supervision, customer satisfaction, product quality assurance, store maintenance, and health and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

Job Duties

• Assist store management in supervising daily store operations.
• Oversee store responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Support personnel management activities such as interviews, promotions, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions when requested.
• Provide guidance and instructions to store associates as needed.
• Maintain store conditions to established standards.
• Help create weekly staffing schedules to meet business needs, upon request.
• Coordinate with various departments to ensure clear communication and expectation management.
• Greet and assist customers, modeling exemplary conduct for staff.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and relevant legislation.
• Handle customer complaints appropriately, escalating as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security regulations.
• Assist in inventory management.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Must hold QCW and Sell Safe certification.
• At least 3 years of retail industry experience.
• Minimum 2 years in a supervisory role within retail.
• Strong service orientation.
• Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
• Ability to train and motivate staff.
• Skills to monitor and assess staff performance.
• Basic office administration skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
