Overview

Title: Assistant Manager

Reports to: Store Manager/Associate Manager

Job Classification: Hourly Non-Exempt

Position Summary

Assistant Managers strive to exceed customer expectations, provide exceptional service, and demonstrate passion for our brand. They collaborate closely with the Store Manager to lead a team focused on achieving top-line sales. Responsibilities include supporting recruitment, talent development, and performance management.

Responsibilities

Customer Experience

• Greet customers and offer assistance; coach associates in real-time.
• Maintain in-depth product and promotion knowledge to explain value and foster brand loyalty.
• Collaborate with the Store Manager to uphold brand standards and customer service expectations.
• Prioritize delivering an exceptional customer experience, resolve concerns promptly, and exceed expectations.

Commitment to Efficiency

• Lead merchandising execution, adjust based on sell-through, and collaborate on new arrivals.
• Enforce company policies, provide loss prevention training, and coach associates.
• Create schedules aligned with payroll and budgets; assist in expense and inventory oversight.
• Support business analysis and communicate opportunities and feedback to the Store Manager.

Associate Morale

• Recruit and onboard top talent; evaluate and provide feedback on current team members.
• Motivate and inspire staff to meet sales goals and uphold brand standards.
• Demonstrate professionalism, pride, and passion; foster an inclusive, respectful environment.
• Build relationships, seek feedback, and support continuous self-development.
• Champion innovation, support initiatives, and promote continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year retail store management experience.
• Bachelor’s/Associate degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and overnight shifts; some travel may be required.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, squat, and lift up to 20 pounds for prolonged periods.
