Job description

Operational Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure exceptional customer service is provided courteously to maintain our reputation for a friendly, effective, and personalized experience;
  2. Responsible for Fresh Side, Dry Side, or both sides;
  3. Assist with setting operational goals for designated areas and enforce standards to ensure overall store success;
  4. Analyze opportunities, develop business plans, and ensure their execution to meet financial objectives (gross profit, wages, expenses, inventory, net contribution, shrinkage);
  5. Review and oversee planogram programs with Department Managers, ensuring proper delivery of merchandising initiatives;
  6. Oversee the execution and maintenance of store programs and initiatives (insiders, rollouts, etc);
  7. Review and approve Department Managers' administrative activities, including financial reporting, scheduling, budgeting, and bookings;
  8. Maintain merchandising standards across sales floors and backrooms, delegating responsibilities to Department Managers;
  9. Ensure inventory levels and assortment mixes are appropriate;
  10. Engage in customer service and relations consistently;
  11. Handle store closing functions at least twice a week;
  12. Oversee store maintenance, including third-party contractors;
  13. Manage daily operations and oversee the store in the absence of the Franchisee;
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.
Employee Relations Responsibilities:
  1. Directly oversee Department Managers, with dotted line reporting;
  2. Support employee performance through clear expectations, feedback, development, and corrective actions;
  3. Coach on progressive discipline;
  4. Manage, plan, and discipline staff as needed;
  5. Maintain and communicate company policies, ensuring compliance with food safety, health and safety, and union agreements;
  6. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  1. Exceptional customer service skills that foster customer loyalty;
  2. Minimum Grade 12 diploma with strong reading, writing, and math skills;
  3. 4-5 years experience in retail food industry;
  4. 3-5 years of managerial experience;
  5. Creativity in display merchandising;
  6. Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple priorities;
  7. Experience with labor relations is an asset;
  8. Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills;
  9. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment;
  10. Knowledge of store systems (Elvis, Telxon, CAO, BDR) is an asset;
  11. Knowledge of Food Safety, Health and Safety, and company policies;
  12. Proficiency in PC applications (Outlook, Excel);
  13. Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and close the store at least twice a week.
