Operational Responsibilities:
- Ensure exceptional customer service is provided courteously to maintain our reputation for a friendly, effective, and personalized experience;
- Responsible for Fresh Side, Dry Side, or both sides;
- Assist with setting operational goals for designated areas and enforce standards to ensure overall store success;
- Analyze opportunities, develop business plans, and ensure their execution to meet financial objectives (gross profit, wages, expenses, inventory, net contribution, shrinkage);
- Review and oversee planogram programs with Department Managers, ensuring proper delivery of merchandising initiatives;
- Oversee the execution and maintenance of store programs and initiatives (insiders, rollouts, etc);
- Review and approve Department Managers' administrative activities, including financial reporting, scheduling, budgeting, and bookings;
- Maintain merchandising standards across sales floors and backrooms, delegating responsibilities to Department Managers;
- Ensure inventory levels and assortment mixes are appropriate;
- Engage in customer service and relations consistently;
- Handle store closing functions at least twice a week;
- Oversee store maintenance, including third-party contractors;
- Manage daily operations and oversee the store in the absence of the Franchisee;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Employee Relations Responsibilities:
- Directly oversee Department Managers, with dotted line reporting;
- Support employee performance through clear expectations, feedback, development, and corrective actions;
- Coach on progressive discipline;
- Manage, plan, and discipline staff as needed;
- Maintain and communicate company policies, ensuring compliance with food safety, health and safety, and union agreements;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Exceptional customer service skills that foster customer loyalty;
- Minimum Grade 12 diploma with strong reading, writing, and math skills;
- 4-5 years experience in retail food industry;
- 3-5 years of managerial experience;
- Creativity in display merchandising;
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple priorities;
- Experience with labor relations is an asset;
- Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment;
- Knowledge of store systems (Elvis, Telxon, CAO, BDR) is an asset;
- Knowledge of Food Safety, Health and Safety, and company policies;
- Proficiency in PC applications (Outlook, Excel);
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and close the store at least twice a week.
