Job Summary

Assist the Store Manager and Manager In Training with recruiting, hiring, training, and managing store personnel to achieve sales goals, control expenses, and protect company assets.

Essential Job Functions
  1. Meet and exceed sales goals and performance standards.
  2. Assist in recruiting and hiring high-caliber employees.
  3. Train and develop the sales team.
  4. Provide feedback, coaching, and enforce policies.
  5. Implement company initiatives according to standards.
  6. Recognize talented staff and develop their growth.
  7. Manage daily store operations in the absence of the Store Manager or Manager In Training.
  8. Oversee Loss Prevention practices.
  9. Communicate store needs effectively.
  10. Resolve customer issues efficiently.
  11. Provide a fun, full-service customer experience.
  12. Complete bank deposits.
  13. Demonstrate and embody the Journeys culture.
Job Requirements
  • Preferred prior retail management experience.
  • 6–12 months retail sales experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Desire to succeed in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Completion of training programs leading to Co-Manager position or equivalent.
  • Ability to work 45 hours per week, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to climb, reach, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and stand for long periods.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
