Job description

ABOUT THE POSITION

Our store leadership teams are essential to our business, with over 430 retail stores worldwide. They ensure effective store operations, develop strategies and procedures, and guide team members to create memorable consumer experiences. Our mission is “Connecting Active People with Their Passions.”

As an Assistant Store Manager, you will lead Sales Associates and Supervisors to engage consumers and foster brand loyalty. You will provide ongoing training and coaching on products, technologies, and selling skills to help associates recommend products and influence buying decisions. You will also develop strategies to improve consumer engagement, drive sales, and increase profitability. Supporting the store manager, you will help create an environment focused on inclusion, teamwork, customer service, and productivity by being a positive role model and leader.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Provide leadership and direction to a diverse team of supervisors and associates to meet performance and operational standards.
  • Create an engaging shopping experience that expands our consumer base, ensuring staff have in-depth product and technology knowledge.
  • Train and coach staff on selling skills that influence consumer decisions. Assist with interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new team members.
  • Support ongoing team development and participate in developing action plans for sales, operations, safety, and employee performance.
  • Develop weekly store schedules and support the store in achieving labor and expense targets.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through effective receiving, replenishment, stockroom organization, and shrink controls.

YOU HAVE

  • No specific education required; High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency with Inventory and Point of Sales (POS) systems and other retail software.
  • Experience in driving consumer engagement, personalized service, and selling skills.
  • Ability to resolve technical and operational issues using sound judgment.
  • Effective communication skills with team members and consumers.

JOB CONDITIONS

  • Active environment, requiring constant movement and the ability to handle items weighing up to 40 lbs. may be required. Exposure to dust and noise possible.
  • Occasional work in different locations.
  • Clear communication abilities.
  • Flexible schedule availability, adaptable to seasonal and business needs, in compliance with laws.
