Job summary

RONA Cobourg Building Supplies is seeking an Assistant Manager in Cobourg, Ontario. The role oversees store programs, staff coverage, and daily operations, with a focus on delivering excellent customer service and driving sales.

You will help with forecasting, inventory control, and promotions while supporting recruitment and development of team members. Flexible scheduling may be required, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• 2 years management experience in a fast-paced retail environment
• 2-3 years experience in the retail home improvement industry is an asset
• Knowledge of retail merchandising, operations and management practices
• Experience selecting, coaching and developing associates
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook)
• Bachelor's degree in business or related field is an asset
• Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Responsibilities

• Oversee store programs through effective delegation and management of work, employees, time, and resources
• Open and close procedures in the store and oversee product in/outflow
• Increase sales through forecasting, sales reports and store promotions
• Manage inventory and security to minimize losses
• Provide exceptional customer service to ensure a unique customer experience
• Support recruitment/selection processes and staff coverage
