Job summary

Dollarama is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Canada to support the Store Manager in overseeing daily retail operations, drive sales, and ensure customer satisfaction. You will act as Manager on Duty in the Store Manager's absence and lead a team across shifts.

This role emphasizes training, coaching, and developing employees, managing merchandising and stock, and upholding safety and company policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of retail experience.
• At least two (2) years in a supervisory or management role.
• Open availability including days, evenings, and weekends.
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager with daily operations and staff management.
• Assist with merchandising, stocking, and opening/closing duties.
• Provide exceptional customer service and resolve escalated issues.
• Train, coach, and develop employees.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.
• Ensure store safety, cleanliness, and adherence to policies.
• Hire and manage performance of team members.

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in overseeing daily retail operations, ensuring customer satisfaction, and achieving sales goals. Acts as Manager on Duty in the Store Manager's absence.

Daily Tasks (but not limited to)

• Assisting the Store Manager with operations and staff management.
• Helping with merchandising, stocking, and unpacking daily shipments.
• Providing exceptional customer service and resolving escalated issues.
• Training, coaching, and developing employees.
• Performing cash management, store opening and closing duties as needed.
• Assigning tasks to the team and ensuring store safety and cleanliness.
• Conducting regular performance evaluations and providing feedback.
• Ensuring adherence to company policies and safety standards.
• Maintaining visual merchandising standards.
• Responsible for hiring and performance management.

What Do You Need to Succeed?
