Job summary

Mind Games USA is seeking a hands-on Store Manager in Oshawa to lead operations, recruit and coach a high-performing team, and drive sales of board games and related products.

You will oversee staffing, scheduling, training, and budget management while delivering outstanding customer experiences and managing loss prevention in a fast-paced specialty-retail environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of management experience in a specialty retail environment.
• Strong leadership and customer management abilities.
• Ability to multi-task with high organizational skills.
• A passion for board games and pop culture.
• Experience recruiting, hiring, and coaching a winning team.
• Proven ability to drive sales and manage loss prevention.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and assigns employees to meet store operations; recruits, selects, orients and trains staff.
• Coaches, counsels and disciplines employees; plans and appraises performance.
• Develops others to the next level and leads by example.
• Manages budgets, expenditures and analyzes variances to meet financial objectives.
• Establishes rapport with customers to understand service requirements and upsell opportunities.
• Monitors promotions, merchandising plans and display standards to drive profitability.
• Executes loss prevention and shrink programs and maintains a safe store environment.

Duties And Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

• Completes store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; and following up on work results. Maintains store staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
• Maintains store staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
• Ability to effectively teach/develop others to the next level.
• Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; and initiating corrective actions.
• Identifies current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.
• Markets merchandise by studying advertising, sales promotion, and display plans; analyzes operating and financial statements for profitability ratios.
• Protects employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment.
• Determines marketing strategy changes by reviewing operating and financial statements and departmental sales records.
• Execute and monitor loss prevention and shrink programs

• Customer service-oriented with in-depth knowledge of basic business management processes.
• Strong leadership and customer management abilities.

• Extremely Driven Individual with proven success in motivating and building strong teams.
• Expertise includes shrink reduction, expense control, people development, merchandising strategies, differentiation, brand strategy, and partnership creation.
• A passion for board games and pop culture as well as driving sales
• Proven ability to recruit/hire/train/coach a winning team
• 2+ years of management experience in a specialty retail environment
• Highly motivated

Pay Rate (per hour): $19.20
