Job summary

Farm Boy Inc. is seeking a front-end leadership role to join our Burlington store leadership team.

You will work with the Department Manager to deliver exceptional service, strong operational performance, and a welcoming shopping experience that reflects Farm Boy’s commitment to fresh, community-focused retail. You’ll lead hands-on daily operations, support training and coaching, oversee cash handling controls, and ensure adherence to policies and government regulations.

Qualifications

• A genuine passion for delivering engaging and exceptional customer service.
• Completion of a post-secondary program with an emphasis in business, plus a minimum of 1 year of progressively responsible supervisory or management experience in a similar role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment by effectively managing changing priorities while maintaining a high level of performance.
• Successful completion of Smart Serve certification, or willingness to obtain certification within six months of hire.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills, supported by clear, confident communication and strong mathematical aptitude.
• Comfort learning and using manual and automated systems, with prior experience working with a variety of computer software programs.
• Thrive in a hands-on setting that involves extended periods of standing, heavy lifting, repetitive movement or tasks, and work that may be performed in cooler, freezer, and outdoor conditions.
• Flexibility to work a dynamic schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Fluency in English; French language skills considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service and support Farm Boy’s vision of a best fresh shopping experience.
• Partner with the Department Manager to implement department strategies and achieve goals and performance objectives.
• Support team development through training, coaching, motivation, and recognition while maintaining trust and professionalism.
• Lead regular team huddles to share goals, recognize achievements, exchange product knowledge, and provide feedback to build engagement.
• Safeguard Farm Boy’s financial assets by supporting cash handling controls, audits, float tracking, and refund oversight.
• Promote adherence to company policies and regulations to maintain a compliant team environment.
• Champion Safe Food Handling and Health & Safety standards to maintain a safe store environment.
• Provide hands-on support to daily operations including cashier coverage, customer service, scheduling, and store cleanliness.
• Assist with office/admin functions including cash handling, scheduling, purchasing orders, and payroll processes.
• Contribute to store success by assisting with other related duties as required.

• Support office and administrative functions, including safe management, cash handling, scheduling, purchasing orders, and payroll processes.
• Contribute to store success by assisting with other related duties as required.
