Job summary

Farm Boy Inc. in Ontario is seeking a capable supervisor to join our team. You’ll work with the Department Manager to deliver standout service and operational excellence, guiding frontline teammates and ensuring a welcoming shopping experience.

The role requires hands-on coaching and effective prioritization, with a focus on accuracy in merchandising and payroll processes. The role demands flexible scheduling including evenings, weekends and holidays, and experience in a fast-paced grocery

Qualifications

• Post-secondary program with emphasis in business and at least 1 year of supervisory/management experience in a similar role, or an equivalent combo of education and experience.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities and maintaining performance.
• Comfort learning and using a variety of computer software programs.

• Deliver warm, confident, and engaging customer service that reflects Farm Boy’s commitment to the best fresh shopping experience.
• Work closely with the Department Manager to execute departmental strategies and achieve goals.
• Coach and develop team through training, motivation, and recognition while maintaining trust and professionalism.
• Lead regular team huddles to share goals, recognize achievements, and provide feedback to build engagement.
• Support daily operations with outstanding customer service, merchandising, staffing coverage, and store cleanliness.
• Provide office and administrative support including inventory management, invoicing, scheduling, and payroll functions.
• Promote compliance with Safe Food Handling and Health & Safety policies to maintain a safe environment.

• Support daily operations by ensuring outstanding customer service, accurate merchandising and rotation, adequate staffing coverage, and consistent department cleanliness.
• Provide office and administrative support, including inventory management, ordering, invoicing, schedule maintenance, and payroll functions.
• Promote compliance with all Safe Food Handling and Health & Safety policies, procedures, and provincial regulations to maintain a safe and high‑quality shopping environment.
• Contribute to store success by assisting with other related duties as required.

Qualifications

• Completion of a post‑secondary program with an emphasis in business, plus a minimum of 1 year of progressively responsible supervisory or management experience in a similar role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• The ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment by effectively managing competing priorities while maintaining a high level of performance.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills supported by a clear, professional communication style.
• Comfort learning and using manual and automated systems, with prior experience working with a variety of computer software programs.
• Thrive in a hands‑on setting that involves extended periods of standing, heavy lifting, and work that may be performed in cooler, freezer, and outdoor conditions.
• Flexibility to work a dynamic schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Fluency in English; French language skills considered an asset.
