Job summary

Sonesta Yorkville Royal Sonesta Hotel in Toronto is seeking an Assistant Server to join our on-site dining team. You will assist servers, clear and set tables, stock stations, and deliver passionate service to guests in a fast-paced hotel restaurant.

The role requires Smart Serve certification, prior hotel server experience preferred, strong organizational and time-management skills, and the ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

Assists servers in their tasks
Ensures all service stations in the kitchen are stocked and ready for service
Removes soiled dishes from table; brings to dish washing area
Completes set up and teardown of dining events as assigned
Carry food trays to tables using the correct seat positions on the ticket
Place entrée to the correct seat positions accordingly
Sets tables with silverware, glassware and other items
Polishes silverware before and after shifts
Cleans dining room areas
Stocks servers' station with supplies

Job Description Summary

The Assistant Server sets the tone for Sonesta's mission by always going above and beyond for our guests and coworkers. The server assistant is responsible for the clearing and setting of tables as well as providing assistance to the service team in a timely manner. The ideal candidate has a passion for hospitality and providing exceptional service.

Principal duties and responsibilities (Essential Functions) include

Assists servers in their tasks

Work Environment

On site hotel restaurant facility.
Must be able work in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Demands

Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force. frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling and reaching.
Ability to stand during entire shift.

Expected Hours of Work

Must be flexible to work variable days of the week to include weekends and holidays.
Must be flexible to work variable shifts (days, nights, overnights).

Education and Experience

Assistant Server experience in hotels preferred.

Additional Job Information/Anticipated Pay Range

Pay Range: $18.83 to $20.93/hour pay rate outlined follows contract requirements.
