Job summary

Pomerleau is seeking an Assistant Project Manager in Ontario to support the Project Manager in planning and execution of projects. You will manage specific scopes, communicate with stakeholders, and track progress while ensuring quality and compliance.

Qualifications

  • 5 - 7 years’ experience in the ICI construction industry.
  • University Degree/Technology Diploma in Engineering, or a combination of education and industry experience.
  • Previous experience in project coordination or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager in the planning, development, execution and coordination of projects and associated administrative duties.
  • Independently manage specific scopes or elements of the project.
  • Display excellent communication skills with all project stakeholders including internal team members, trade partners, consultants and clients.
  • Track and report on project progress.
  • Maintain, review and follow-up on shop drawings, RFI’s, change orders, change notices, change directives, quotes and project completion documents.
  • Show competency in and assist the Project Manager with site legal issues as needed.
  • Request, review and analyze trade partner quotes with emphasis on obtaining the best prices for the Company and our Clients.
  • Chair, co-chair or attend project meetings.
  • Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety and Environmental Protection on the project while complying with Pomerleau’s HS&E standards, applicable OH&S acts, regulations and codes with all employees and trade partners.
  • Ensure all work completed by you, your team and other stakeholders exceeds Pomerleau’s Quality Management standards.
  • Complete all tasks assigned to you diligently and on time.
  • Continue to enhance your construction knowledge and abilities through training and site experience.
  • Support junior team members through training, development, mentoring and coaching.

What you will do
