Job summary

Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences Department- University of British Columbia in Vancouver invites applications for an Assistant Professor, Tenure Track in U-Pb Geochronology. The successful candidate will develop an externally funded research program, supervise students, and teach undergraduate and graduate courses within Earth sciences.

Collaborative opportunities exist across EOAS facilities PCIGR, EMXDF and MDRU.

Qualifications

• PhD in Earth Sciences or related field completed by appointment.
• Research focus in igneous and/or metamorphic processes with U-Pb geochronology.
• Evidence of strong research productivity and potential for external funding.
• Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate Earth sciences courses.

Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain an externally funded, internationally recognized research program in geochronology.
• Supervise and mentor graduate students and postdoctoral researchers.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate Earth sciences courses and contribute to the EOAS curriculum.
• Collaborate with EOAS facilities (PCIGR, EMXDF, MDRU) and external partners.
