Job summary

The University of Ottawa invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in hydrogeology or hydrology. The position seeks a bilingual scientist with an outstanding research record and potential for leadership in northern Canada, climate change impacts, or carbon mitigation strategies.

Responsibilities include teaching in both official languages, supervising students, developing an externally-funded program, and collaborating with industry and government.

Qualifications

• PhD in Earth Sciences, Environmental Sciences, or related field.
• Postdoctoral experience is required or strongly encouraged.
• Active knowledge of French and ability to work in both official languages.
• Excellent didactic skills are an asset.
• Provide a 2-3 page research program and a teaching approach including AI in teaching.

Responsibilities

• Teach hydrogeology (French) and hydrology (French and English).
• Supervise BSc, MSc and PhD students.
• Develop an externally-funded research program.
• Establish links with industry and government agencies.
• Contribute to administrative and academic activities within the department.
