Duties

Diverse and open with spectacular views! Kamloops, in the heart of Southern British Columbia, offers river valleys, semi-arid grasslands, forests, lakes, and mountain peaks. It is the traditional territory of the Secwépemc people. Kamloops provides a safe, affordable environment with outdoor activities, sports, and cultural events. It is a 3.5-hour drive or 45-minute flight from Vancouver.

TRU offers small class sizes, undergraduate research opportunities, and a centrally located campus with over 26,000 students, including Indigenous and international students. TRU values equity, diversity, and inclusivity, supporting faculty through research funding and development. The university is expanding with new facilities including simulation labs and a research Centre for Brain Health and Wellness. The School of Nursing offers MN, MN-NP, BScN, PN (Williams Lake only), and HCA programs.

The School of Nursing is seeking two (2) tenure-track faculty members starting July 1, 2024, or as mutually agreed. Candidates will teach theory and practice courses, develop research programs, and participate in university and community service.

Qualifications
  • PhD or other doctorate; consideration for doctoral candidates completing their degree soon after appointment;
  • Minimum of one (1) degree in nursing;
  • At least five (5) years of full-time or equivalent nursing experience;
  • Evidence of scholarly research or scholarship;
  • Commitment to continuous learning in nursing;
  • Experience teaching theory and clinical practice;
  • Understanding of the Canadian healthcare system;
  • Current BCCNM registration in good standing or eligibility for registration prior to appointment.

Pay Band: $73,665.93 - $163,084.94 (TRUFA Salary Schedule Range TS01 - TS28)
