As an already internationally known hat brand, we are embarking on our next phase of growth, re-invigorating the brand and expanding into more apparel and non-apparel categories. Our product team is passionate to apply their depth of product experience with an entrepreneurial spirit. We are a team for industry experts who are passionate about outdoor adventure.
The Assistant Product Developer is responsible for item creation, initiating tech pack with tech sketches, fabric construction details and BOM. This role supports the product development team on a daily, reporting to the Director of Design and Product Development.
Role and Responsibilities
•Follow up on sample timelines and execution under the direction of the PD Head for your category.
•New style creation and setup in our system, ensure data accuracy, including style numbers and fabrication etc.
•Technical design sketching, trend and style research as required to support the team.
•Create and update style information in our style tracker and WIP progress documents from the start of the season through to final receipt of bulk production.
•Organize and file submissions for lap dip, trim and fabric approvals
•Organize and tag all sample submissions
•Update and finalize the production Bill of Materials
•Knowledge of fabrications, construction, fit and trim.
•Manage ad hoc reporting and miscellaneous projects as required
•Responsible for inbound and outbound packages. Shipping and receiving duties are a daily function.
•Complete style feature information and onboarding of styles in your category.
•Passionate about being on the pulse of industry trends to create innovative premium travel and adventure apparel.
•Creating concept and design presentations are required.
Qualifications
•Diploma or Degree in Fashion Design or Communications
•Strong attention to detail and proficient at multi-tasking
•Proficient in all programs in Microsoft Office
•Proficient in all programs in Adobe Creative Suite
• Tech-savvy with a strong ability to learn new systems
•Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
