A leading grocery retailer in Canada is seeking an Assistant Produce Manager to support the manager in supervising staff and managing produce operations. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of supervisory experience, excellent customer service skills, and a high school diploma. This position offers full-time hours with the requirement to work weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Manager in supervising, directing, motivating, and training staff; perform administrative duties; and replace the Manager during absences.
  • Receive, price, stock, rotate, and merchandise products.
  • Order a full range of products and assist in inventory management.
  • Implement and ensure adherence to Customer Service Policy.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and government regulations regarding health & safety, sanitation, and security.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ produce and supervisory experience, including product knowledge, rotation, merchandising, ordering, and inventory control.
  • Excellent customer service, supervisory, and communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Capable of standing for 4-8 hours, bending, twisting, reaching, and lifting up to 65 lbs.
  • Availability to work 40 hours per week, including up to 3 evenings, with shifts ranging from 4 to 10 hours. Must work every Sunday, with the option to request two consecutive days off during the week every other week.
