Job Description

This position is responsible for assisting the Department Manager in achieving company, store, and department goals as communicated by the Store Manager and Department Manager. Duties must ensure a quality service approach to all employees, customers, and suppliers, performed in a manner consistent with the Farm Boy Way.

Major Responsibilities:

• Provide superior customer service and support Farm Boy’s vision of the best fresh shopping experience.
• Assist in developing the team through training, coaching, and recognition, maintaining confidentiality and trust.
• Communicate effectively with the team via huddles, product knowledge sharing, and adherence to policies and safety standards.
• Support floor operations including serving customers, merchandising, department cleanliness, and managing breaks.
• Assist with office management tasks such as inventory, ordering, invoicing, scheduling, and payroll.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Typically requires a post-secondary program with an emphasis in business, plus at least 1 year of supervisory or management experience or equivalent education and experience.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
• Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
• Good judgment and decision-making abilities when interacting with customers and team members.
• Ability to learn manual and automated systems/tools.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing priorities effectively.
• Flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Fluency in English; French is an asset.

Work & Sensory Environment:

• Providing service to multiple departments with multiple deadlines.
• Performing extensive data entry.
