Job Summary

TravelCenters of America provides a convenient, one-stop shopping experience, offering a wide selection of products, Grab ‘N Go foods, groceries, snacks, electronics, maintenance supplies, clothing, and gifts. The Store Assistant General Manager supports the General Manager in operations and marketing of the Travel Store / Convenience Store. Responsibilities include staffing, training, supervision, and enhancing profitability. The role ensures travelers leave better than they arrived!

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and motivate your team to meet performance standards and improve the Fuel department (customer service, product knowledge, atmosphere).
  • Create a trusting environment for feedback; coach and manage staff performance.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and retain high-quality staff; foster a respectful, recognized culture.
  • Achieve financial goals through effective management of people, products, services, and facilities, focusing on revenue and profit.
  • Follow safety standards and operational guidelines, including vendor relations.
  • Perform duties of hourly associates as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Leadership by example.
  • Ability to motivate, train, and develop team members.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Supervisory experience in convenience stores, truck service, or travel centers preferred.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and POS systems.

Pay Range

$18.50 - $19.50 per hour
