Job summary

Designer Brands Canada is seeking an Assistant Manager for our Shoe Co. banner to lead a dynamic team in delivering exceptional customer experiences and achieving store goals.

You will report to the Store Manager and help coach staff, manage in-store sales, web orders, recruiting, and training while upholding our values. The role requires 2–3 years of progressive retail supervisory experience, ability to work days, weekends, and closing shifts, and proficiency with MS Word and Excel.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in achieving sales and profitability targets.
• Proficient with email, word processing, and spreadsheet programs (MS Word/Excel).
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced retail environment while delivering strong customer experiences.
• Minimum 2 to 3 years in progressive retail supervisory roles.
• Able to work days, closing shifts and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead store to maximize sales and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
• Model a service-focused shopping experience and maintain merchandise presentation and store integrity.
• Balance policies, procedures, payroll, reporting and scheduling for an operationally sound store.
• Recruit, manage, develop, and train top retail talent who love shoes.
