Job Summary
The Assistant Manager, Guest Experience role is an essential part of the store leadership team, ensuring our team members and guests (i.e., customers) receive a quality experience in our stores every day. Assistant Managers, Guest Experience are responsible for leading from the floor to build, manage, and develop team members. They create an environment and a team culture where people feel a deep sense of belonging and have the opportunity to grow. They ensure their team delivers outstanding guest experience in line with company values and directives.
Core Responsibilities
Leadership and People Management
- Create and foster a respectful and inclusive team environment by welcoming and celebrating differences to ensure a supportive, productive, and fun experience for all team members.
- Engage team members by helping them understand how their work supports the success of the store and of lululemon overall.
- Implement the Store Manager’s vision for the store and cascade to team members.
- Support Store Manager in hiring and building a strong and diverse team that includes members with various experiences, backgrounds, and skillsets to drive key results and performance.
- Support ongoing learning and development of team members by providing direct feedback, coaching, mentoring, and continuous development check-ins.
- Lead performance management activities, including feedback, rewards, performance documentation, and addressing concerns.
- Address employee concerns or issues, knowing when to partner with internal support for appropriate action.
Guest Experience and Community
- Lead an exceptional guest experience by assessing guest connection and product education, supporting team members to address gaps through feedback and coaching.
- Provide floor leadership, making decisions to maintain efficiency and effectiveness.
- Resolve guest feedback and address issues, including escalations and urgent requests.
Operations, Product, and Strategy
- Review business data with other managers to inform planning processes.
- Maintain product presentation and visual merchandising standards.
- Open and close the store following procedures.
- Adhere to safety policies and perform work according to policies, procedures, and laws.
Budget and People Management
- Manage delegated aspects of the budget and labor hours.
- Lead a subset of store employees as delegated by the Store Manager.
Requirements
- Legally authorized to work in the country.
- Reliable transportation to the store.
- Availability for variable schedules, including weekends and holidays.
Experience
- At least 1 year in people management.
- At least 1 year in leadership, managing business operations, projects, or processes.
Preferred Attributes
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience in retail management and hiring/training employees is a plus.
Work Environment
- Bright environment with loud music.
- Combination of team and independent work.
- Involves moving through the store, assisting guests, and possibly sitting for extended periods.
Compensation & Benefits
Base pay: $24.54 - $33.21/hour, plus a target bonus of 25%, total range $30.68 - $41.51/hour. Benefits include health/dental, paid time off, retirement plans, discounts, fitness classes, and more.
