Job summary

Scotiabank in Toronto seeks an Assistant Manager, Corporate Lending Services to support administration and ongoing maintenance of corporate lending facilities. You will work with internal partners, clients, and lending participants to ensure accurate loan records and smooth deal executions.

Responsibilities include coordinating closings, maintaining facility terms, and guiding Deal Analysts. Strong lending operations knowledge and lead-within-team capabilities are valued.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in Corporate Lending Services or related financial services environment.
  • Strong understanding of syndicated loan administration and corporate lending operations.
  • Experience with Loan IQ, ACBS, or similar loan servicing platforms.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and solid Microsoft Office knowledge.
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience coaching or informal leadership to team members is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support the administration and servicing of syndicated and bilateral credit facilities throughout the deal lifecycle.
  • Assist in coordinating deal closings, fundings, amendments, repayments, and ongoing loan maintenance activities.
  • Review and process loan transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with approved credit authorizations and loan documentation.
  • Ensure facility terms and conditions, including pricing, limits, and other lending requirements, are accurately maintained and administered.
  • Work closely with borrowers, agent banks, participant lenders, relationship managers, legal partners, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and facilitate transactions.
  • Identify exceptions, operational risks, and control concerns and elevate issues appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate loan data and accounting records within Loan IQ and other lending platforms.
  • Support the investigation and resolution of operational, accounting, and reconciliation issues.
  • Assist with workflow management, operational reporting, and team capacity planning.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and support to Deal Analysts.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives, system enhancements, and special projects.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, risk frameworks, and operational controls.
  • Support a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team environment.

The Role

The Assistant Manager, Corporate Lending Services is responsible for supporting the administration and ongoing maintenance of corporate lending facilities where the Bank acts as Agent, Participant Lender, or Direct Lender. The role ensures the accurate setup, servicing, and management of syndicated and bilateral loan transactions while maintaining the integrity of loan records, accounting reconciliations, and operational controls.

The Assistant Manager works closely with internal business partners, clients, agent banks, and lending participants to support the successful execution of complex lending transactions. In addition, this role provides day-to-day guidance and operational support to Deal Analysts while partnering with the Manager and senior leadership team to ensure service excellence and operational effectiveness.
