Job summary

Adult & Teen Challenge of Central Canada (ATCCC) is seeking a full-time Thrift Store Manager to support day-to-day operations at the Steinbach store. You will organize, price, and display donated goods, supervise staff and volunteers, and ensure the store runs with excellence and in alignment with our faith-based mission.

This role involves meeting budget requirements, maintaining a safe work environment, and coordinating social media marketing to promote sales and program funding for addiction

Qualifications

• Experience in thrift store management or related retail experience.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to mentor staff and ATC students.
• Discretion and patience when working with at-risk individuals.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the organization, planning, development, implementation, and administration of the thrift store to run with excellence and meet budget requirements.
• Provide leadership and supervision to staff, volunteers, and ATC students.
• Sort, price, mark, create and display products.
• Ensure the store is clean, organized.
• Assist the manager to ensure the store meets all city, provincial, federal and ATC accreditation requirements for retail and safety.
• Assist with planning, developing, implementing and administering the store retail sales segment.
• Ensure storage of donations is neat and orderly.
• Assist with items needed in conjunction with the store retail sales operation.
• Assist with the social media page of the Super Thrift store.
• Maintain a safe work environment at all times.
• Educate staff.
• Be consistent in ensuring safety practices are followed.
• Provide leadership and support to the Health & Safety Committee.

Position Overview

To assist with the day to day management of the Super Thrift store: organization, receiving product by donation, pricing items for retail, structuring of sales floor and managing staff.

Thrift operations play a crucial role in funding ongoing addiction programs by generating revenue that directly supports these initiatives, ensuring their sustainability and reach. Additionally, thrift stores provide valuable work experience to students in recovery, offering a structured, supportive environment where they can develop essential skills, build confidence, and regain a sense of purpose as part of their rehabilitation journey. This dual impact strengthens both the financial foundation of the programs and the personal growth of participants, fostering long-term success.

• Conflict resolution experience or training an asset.
• A basic working knowledge of email and web-based programs.
