Healthy Planet is seeking an Assistant Manager to support senior leadership and oversee daily store operations in Waterloo. You will manage staff, scheduling, training, customer satisfaction, and inventory while aligning with company policies.
The role is a stepping stone to a senior management position within the Healthy Planet family. Responsibilities include recruiting and developing staff, directing store associates, achieving sales targets, and maintaining merchandising standards.
The Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting the senior management team with various tasks in addition to overseeing the daily operations of the store. These daily operations include but are not limited to: staff scheduling, supervising and managing employees, ensuring customer satisfaction, resolving conflict, maintaining the store as well as ensuring that all policies, programs and regulations are complied with. This role is designed to prepare the successful candidate to take on a senior manager role with the Healthy Planet family.
Proven experience as a retail assistant manager or similar position
Experience in Health Food Store and/or experience as an assistant manager, nutritionist, naturopath, sports nutrition or expert in health food industry
The ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations
Strong knowledge of retail and/or wholesale sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques
Ability to supervise and train employees, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments
Excellent teamwork and employee building skills
Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with corporate departments, key business partners, and customers
Leadership and organizational skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to adapt in fast paced environments

The typical hiring range for this position is $24 to $24.50. Final compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate’s experience, skill set, internal equity, and organizational needs. This posting is for an existing vacancy.
