Job summary

Ace Liquor Discounter is hiring an Assistant Store Manager in Edmonton to support daily operations and lead a high-performing team. You’ll coach staff, assist with recruitment, and help meet sales goals while upholding Alberta liquor regulations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail experience and 2+ years in a supervisory role.
• ProServe certification or willingness to obtain.

• Able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and train store staff, supporting recruitment and performance management.
• Oversee daily operations, opening/closing duties, and store communications.
• Partner with Store Manager on staffing, goals, and performance targets.
• Deliver friendly customer service while ensuring regulatory compliance.

About The Opportunity

We’re hiring a dependable, motivated Assistant Store Manager to support daily operations and help lead a high-performing store team. What You’ll Do

Leadership & Team Support

• Assist with supervising, coaching, and training staff
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance management
• Help promote a positive, engaged team culture

Store Operations

• Support daily store operations, including opening and closing duties
• Manage store communication (email, updates, task assignments)
• Work closely with the Store Manager on staffing, operational needs, and sales goals

Customer Service & Compliance

• Check ID and ensure all alcohol sales meet Alberta regulations
• Deliver friendly, knowledgeable customer service
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming store environment

Inventory & Financial Support

• Assist with inventory counts, ordering, and receiving
• Review reports and documentation for accuracy
• Help support store financial targets and controllables

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of retail experience
• 2+ years in a supervisory role
• ProServe certification (or willingness to obtain)
