Why this role is important?
Summary:

To assist the Front Store Manager (FSM) in managing the human, physical, and financial resources of the store and in ensuring that store objectives are achieved by focusing on improving product flow from the backroom to the sales floor.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Operations:
  • Maintain Store Standards to optimize customer experience, drive customer traffic, and positively impact store profitability.
  • Work with Management Team to ensure Store Standards are in effect 100% of the time, including the backroom.
  • Assist in managing labour scheduling in conjunction with the FSM, leveraging Work Force Management (WFM) to maximize labour productivity.
  • Ensure staffing levels are adequate to effectively operate the business.
Human Resources:
  • Comply with Human Resources Standards.
  • Assist with hiring in conjunction with the FSM, supporting hiring for all departments except Pharmacy.
  • Maintain wage administration within SLPH guidelines.
  • Drive Blue Culture, engagement, and motivate staff through leading by our Core Values.
Qualifications:
  • Planning, judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Planning and preparation for inventory management.
  • Use judgment and decision-making skills to control expenses.
  • Provide effective leadership, mentorship, and staff development.
  • Efficient time management and ability to prioritize activities quickly.
  • Effective organization and planning skills.
Experience:
  • Previous retail management experience.
  • Ability to drive the business, lead by example, and support corporate programs.
  • Effective collaboration with management teams.
  • Superior interpersonal, coaching, and communication skills.
  • Business and financial acumen.
  • Relationship-building with key internal and external stakeholders.
