Job summary

Fairmont Hotel Macdonald in Edmonton is seeking an Assistant Front Office Manager (Full Time) to deliver personalized service and lead the Front Office team. Reporting to the Front Office Manager, you will train staff, manage scheduling, and ensure service standards are met to create memorable guest experiences.

Ideal candidates are highly organized, people-focused leaders with strong guest service skills and knowledge of Opera or similar systems.

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
  • Ability to maintain service standards under pressure.
  • Experience in hospitality management is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, train, and recognize Front Office staff to ensure outstanding guest service.
  • Assist Front Office Manager in department operations and scheduling.
  • Resolve guest concerns promptly to create memorable stays.
  • Ensure staffing levels align with productivity goals.

Job Description

Assistant Front Office Manager (Full Time)

In this role, you will be providing engaging, sincere, personalized service by creating the grandest of feelings for our guests. Showcase your interpersonal strengths as an Assistant Front Office Manager, where you will lead, train, and recognize your team in support of exceptional guest service.


What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Front Office Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly, and engaging service
  • Assist the Front Office Manager in all aspects of the department and ensure service standards are followed
  • Handle guest concerns and react quickly, tracking and notifying proper areas to guarantee memorable moments for our guests
  • Ensure proper staffing and scheduling of all Front Office colleague in accordance to productivity and guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps
Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • Highly organized, results-oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure
  • Service focused personality is essential. Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities and the ability to lead by example
  • Previous experience in a similar leadership role is an asset
  • Prior experience working with Opera or a related system
  • ProServe Certificate
  • Valid Drivers license
  • Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management is an asset

Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining work authorization documents.
