Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada- Corporate Management Branch is seeking an Assistant Facilities Manager in Summerland, BC. You will help plan, coordinate and deliver facilities management programs for federal buildings and infrastructure.

Under the general direction of the Facilities Manager, the Assistant Facilities Manager:
Work environment
The Assistant Facilities Manager works in a dynamic environment supporting the operation, maintenance, and improvement of federal facilities and infrastructure. The position involves a combination of office and field work, including inspections of buildings, mechanical and electrical systems, construction sites, and research facilities. The incumbent works closely with tradespeople, contractors, project teams, scientists, and stakeholders to support facility operations, maintenance programs, and capital projects. Occasional travel within the local area, on-call responsibilities, and response to operational emergencies may be required.

Conditions of Employment:

Possession of a valid, Class (5) or (G) British Columbia driver’s license, or other provincial/territorial equivalency.
Operational Requirements:
Ability and willingness to work on-call or standby on a rotating schedule, respond to urgent facility operational issues, and report on-site in a timely manner when required.

Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code, Canadian Plumbing Code, National Building Code of Canada, National Fire Code of Canada. Knowledge of principles for building operation, practices of modern building systems technology (e.g. remote monitoring, automation, carbon neutrality) and life-cycle maintenance planning.
