Generations Toronto, a not-for-profit intergenerational campus in Ontario, is seeking an Assistant Director of Care (RN) to lead the Long-Term Care residence alongside the senior management team. You will plan, organize, direct, and coordinate resident care activities in line with policies and procedures.

You will oversee onboarding, staff education, health and safety, infection prevention and control programs; audit care documentation; ensure care plans reflect residents' needs and regulatory

Qualifications

• Geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing expertise.
• Experience with onboarding and staff education in a care setting.
• Knowledge of provincial/federal health and safety regulations and nursing acts.

Responsabilités

• Plan, organize, direct and coordinate resident care activities within approved policies.
• Onboard new staff and provide ongoing staff education, health and safety and infection control.
• Audit Point Click Care documentation including progress notes, care plans and assessments.
• Ensure care plans are developed, updated and followed; conduct quarterly audits.
• Respond to resident or family concerns and escalate to the Director of Care as needed.

AgeCare has been appointed as the manager of the Generations Toronto long-term care home and is recruiting the Assistant Director of Care (RN) on behalf of Generations Toronto.The Opportunity:The Assistant Director of Care of the Long-Term Care residence works collaboratively with the senior management team to plan, organize, direct, and coordinate resident care activities within approved policies and procedures (including onboarding and annual staff education, staff health and safety and infection prevention and control programs).What Is In It For You:• Ensures residents’ care is evaluated continuously.• Works closely with the Registered Staff team and the RAI-MDS Coordinator to ensure that the appropriate documentation is in place as per policy and to ensure regulatory compliance Reviews and audits Point Click Care documentation including progress notes, care plans and resident assessments. Ensures that care plans are developed, updated, reviewed regularly, and followed consistently.• Audits resident care plans on a quarterly basis and ensures documentation accurately reflects the resident’s care requirements.• Responds to resident or family concerns and ensures appropriate action is taken within decision-making authority and/or brings to the attention of the Director of Care.What You Will Need• A sound knowledge and background in geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing including activation, nursing, and personnel administration.• Knowledge of The Nursing Homes Act and Regulations, Homes for Special Care Act, Extended Care Program Directives, the appropriate sections of The Health Disciplines Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act, Pharmacy Act, Food & Drugs Act (Canada), Narcotic Control Act (Canada) and other pertinent federal, provincial, and municipal Statutes, which influence the operation of the residence and more specifically the nursing department.• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.• Post graduate studies in nursing, nursing administration and geriatrics is considered an asset.Salary Range: $94,000.00 - $103,000.00 per yearSalary placement based on qualifications and experience.This job posting is for an active, open position, and all applications are reviewed by our team without the use of artificial intelligence (AI).
