Kativik Ilisarniliriniq is seeking an Assistant Director to support the physical management and administrative operations of its schools in Nunavik. The role reports to the Assistant Director General and involves strategic planning, staffing, budgeting, and policy compliance.

Qualifications

  • Eight (8) years of relevant experience with at least five (5) years in a management position.
  • Fluency in two of the three official languages of Kativik Ilisarniliriniq (Inuktitut, English and French).
  • Must be prepared for frequent travels throughout Nunavik.

  • Participate in meetings and committees with partners and stakeholders.
  • Assist in planning and preparation of the department annual budget.
  • Provide support to schools with their School Success Plan.
  • Assume other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all the aforementioned qualification requirements if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board

Requirements
  • Fluency in two (2) of the three (3) official languages of Kativik Ilisarniliriniq (Inuktitut, English and French);
  • Must be prepared for frequent travels throughout Nunavik;
  • Excellent management and organizational skills in order to create an efficient work environment;
  • Initiative;
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Word and Excel;
  • Speaking Inuktitut is an asset;
  • Knowledge of Nunavik and the Inuit culture is an asset.
Classification / Salary / Benefits

Class 10* as per the KI working conditions of managers: from $116 551 to $155 396 annually depending on qualifications and experience.
