Job summary

Save-On-Foods is seeking an Assistant Department Manager, Produce for the Madison Centre location in Burnaby, BC. The role is part-time with open availability and 40 hours per week.

You will lead and mentor a Produce team, foster a customer-first environment, manage stock, and help develop future leaders while collaborating with store leadership. The position offers benefits, educational reimbursement, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Food Safe Certification is required.
• Strong work ethic and a can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assist with leading a Produce team and act as coach to staff.
• Foster a positive, customer-first environment.
• Engage and retain team through training, development, performance management, and recognition.
• Communicate important messages to the team clearly and timely.
• Use knowledge of the community and market to support entrepreneurial growth for the store.
• Take stock counts and ensure inventory accuracy.
