Job summary

Independent Grocers Alliance in Canada is seeking an assistant department manager to lead day-to-day operations in the grocery area, ensuring smooth service and product availability.

You will work with the department manager, provide coaching, coordinate with production and customer service clerks, and help optimize inventories, pricing and marketing to meet company standards.

Qualifications

• 2 years experience in retail or customer service.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day management within your department with the department manager.
• Provide team members with feedback for their development and to achieve objectives.
• Collaborate with production and customer service clerks; ensure exceptional customer service.
• In collaboration with the manager, manage inventories, price lists, marketing and salary productivity to ensure business readiness.
