Job summary

Independent Grocers Alliance in Canada is seeking an assistant department manager to join our team. If you are curious about food, motivated and resourceful, this role may interest you!

You will perform day-to-day management activities within your department alongside the department manager, coaching team members and ensuring exceptional customer service. We offer training courses to develop your skills and a 39-hour work week with day shifts.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in retail or customer service.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to learn and develop through training.
• Day shifts and a 39-hour work week.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day management within your department in collaboration with the department manager.
• Provide team members with feedback for their development and objectives.
• Collaborate with production and customer service clerks; ensure exceptional customer service.
• In collaboration with the manager, manage inventories, price lists, marketing and productivity according to standards.

What might a typical day look like?
As an assistant department manager, you will have to :

• perform day-to-day management activities within your department in collaboration with the department manager;
• provide team members with the feedback necessary for their professional development and the achievement of established objectives;
• collaborate with the production and customer service clerks; - Ensure the implementation of exceptional customer service
• in collaboration with the manager, ensure the management of inventories, price lists, marketing and salary productivity according to established standards in order to ensure business readiness;
