Our client, a rapidly growing high-tech organization, is seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Assistant Controller to join their finance team. Reporting to the Finance Director, the Assistant Controller will function as a strong right-hand and help manage the day-to-day accounting operations, along with the financial reporting requirements and month-end close process. The ideal candidate will be technically strong and able to work effectively both independently and within a team. As Assistant Controller, you’ll leverage your strong analytical skills and deep understanding of accounting systems to support data-driven decisions. You'll thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment where priorities shift quickly, and time management is essential. Main responsibilities include:

• Oversee daily operations of the accounting department including A/R, A/P, GL, inventory and more
• Review monthly financial close and reconciliation of GL accounts, including approval of journal entries and account reconciliations
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc financial reporting
• Assist with year-end audit
• Collaborate with HR to manage payroll operations
• Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures
• Enforce internal controls

Qualifications:

The main qualifications for this role include:

• Completed CPA designation or in process
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum 4 years of progressive experience in accounting
• Strong understanding of accounting standards (ASPE and/or IFRS)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Proficient in Excel
